Can anyone tell me how to get air out of my tractor pto and loader.

1. What tractor do you have?

2. Can we assume you have air in the hydraulic lines, or what is it you are taling about?

3. To get air out of loader hyd system, just move them up & down fully several times.

4. I do not understand 'air in the pto'.

5. If nothing is working hydraulicly, you might have a hyd leak, or your pump lost it's prime. we could be more helpful on what to do if we know what tractor model it is. Either prime the pump, or find & fix the suction leak.

Hope we can help.

I think when he is saying "air in the pto", he is referring to the 3ph....

I have a D28F Shibarua. I think its about 28 Hp at the PTO. I have a loader and a 5 ft boxblade. I have tried to raise and lower the loader all the way up and down and still the loader and boxblade jerks when raising. It shakes the tractor when it jerks. It does it worse when cold.

I don't know about your tractor, but on my Kubota B2910 you turn the steering wheel until it stops, hold it tight to the stop for a couple seconds, then turn it to the other stop and hold it for a couple seconds. That will bleed most of the air out of the hydraulic system on this tractor. It might be worth a try on yours.

Good Luck

Re: How do you get air out of pto and front end lo

On my tractors when this happens usually I just fill the hydraulic reservoir up and then operate the loader and 3 pt hitch controls through their full cycles a few times. If this doesn't work, I have had to just crack the fittings on my loader cylinders and operate the controls. You may have this a number of times until the air makes it's way back to the reservoir When the air stops spurting out, I tighted them while the fluid is still coming out. Be sure to refill the reservoir when your done.
Hope this helps.

Painted, it could be a clogged hydraulic filter or screen. Check out this link from the "other tractors" section regarding another Shibaura with a similar problem.

Jerky

Best of luck.

Re: How do you get air out of pto and front end lo

I have Shibaura D28F and I have the same problem as the jerky one but my light comes on when I first crank it and when it warms up it goes out and I can't find the filter hes talking about I followed the small line to the trans but it has one bolt that goes through the end of the line to fasten it. Did you have to drain the fluid in the trans to clean the screen. My filter is at the trans the filter is on the large line. The large line comes from the pump back too the filter then it goes into the side of the rearend.

Well I took the screen out today and it was stopped up and I cleaned with gas and a knife. Put it back together and works like a champ. It was a little trouble getting it out and back in. Hope it doesn't have to be done alot.
