The long term solution - Invest in a snow blower and you'll reduce the stones on the lawn by 90%+.
This is my method as well. Looking out at my front yard now there are stones scattered all over from my blower. I'll go out and pick up the biggest ones before the grass turns green but the rest will eventually just disappear into the lawn when it starts growing. When I first moved it here the first spring and maybe the second when I was younger, I spent hours picking up every stone, decided that I have better things to do with my time. Used to do the same for the stone and sand the town plows through off as well.I notice way too many people are waaay to **** about this. Sure, knock down and get rid of the worst and of course BIG stones, but it's amazing how totally the gravel disappears when the grass grows. Can there really be that many people looking for something to do?
Every spring the concession road in front of my place is covered with tons and tons of gravel and sand. Looks like it will never be grass again! If it's badly damaged and rutted, I level it with a Harley Rake, but it always grows grass again, and you would never know. Besides, I figure, the agregate will give the grass shoulders a bit of resilience against vehicle traffic in wet conditions.
Lazy way, just make it part of the lawn

What in the blazes is that? I’ve never seen this before. Looks like an effective tool to fine grade areas?
I agree, but I want oneI gotta say, it looks like you are 50HP short of using that implement.
