An eighty year old lady who lives close to my mother has a fool proof way of getting rid of moles. She sits in her front yard in a lawn chair with a 10-shot rifle in her hands. When she sees a mole working she runs to the tunnel and starts shooting. She spaces the bullets 2-3 inches apart and works back from where the mole was working. I know it is a 10-shot rifle because I heard it twice today. Mom would say, "Wanda got another one". There are always a couple or three moles hanging on the fence by her house. That is how she keeps score.
My mother, who is a couple of years younger, sticks a water hose in the tunnel when she sees one working. When the mole comes up for air she shoots him with a .410 shotgun. A few years ago she killed them with a shovel but is getting slower and now uses the gun. She also hangs her victims on a fence. Two other widows living nearby also display 'victims' they have dispatched.
There are five widows living on a main road in the country within sight of each others house. Most have farm equipment and other valuables around their houses. But nobody has ever stolen anything from any of them or messed with them in any way. I wonder why?
