Does John Deere or Kubota make push type Reel mowers?
Well let's see a NW barbecue could include Salmon I guess. I used to go to Westport and go out Salmon and Bottom fishing. Then go back to my house and have a huge barbecue of salmon and bottom fish. We had a good band come in and play while we all pigged out and played volleyball and horse shoes. It was a blast. I did have to invite all of the neighbors so that they couldn't complain about the loud music...

So are you volunteering to bring Salmon?

I haven't gone Salmon fishing out of Westport for years since the quotas were cut back and becoming a Dad raising my daughter by myself. Tell you what. If I have some Salmon that I can get my hands on I will bring it.

Fair enough. To be honest, I was just looking for a way to bring this thread back to the top and you were my victim. How old's your daughter? Mine will be twelve in September. She's the one on the left in
my avitar.

Yeah I want to keep the thread alive as well. It would be fun to go there. And if I do have some salmon because my fishing buddies at work give me salmon I will bring it.
My daughter is 14 and making me proud of her. Straight A student and active in our Church.
Sounds like setting this Picnic up might be a bit of a financial burden on you unless you get back into some overtime? I had to work mandatory overtime in May. No fun for me because I like my time away from Boeing.
Thanks for your willingness to try and have this picnic.
By the way I will get on my Soap box and Salute all of the Veterans today as it is Memorial Day.

I think the only real financial burden will be paying for the cut-n-wrap for the beef, but if the rest sells it will cover that cost. I still have a half and a quarter for sale. A friend of mine asked about the half and I need to get back to him now that it's hanging to see if he still wants it. I need to call this week and get hanging weights too so that I can tell people how much to pay as I sell at $3/lb hanging weight. They pay for their own cut-n-wrap.

Sure hope all this rain means we'll have a good summer by the time the picnic gets here.

Well shoot I would think about buying the quarter of beef :licking: if there weren't so much salmon in my fridge.. We eat more beef than anything at our house. My daughter isn't into the Salmon much. What's it cost for cutting and wrap anymore? We used to butcher hogs and cattle years ago.

It should be somewhere between 50-60 cents/lb. I'm going to have to ask as I changed butchers this year. I found out that the butcher I was using pooled hamburger rather than keeping things seperate. When you are trying to sell grass-fed beef, it's important to know that what the customer is receiving is what you are advertising. With him pooling the hamburger, who knows what you are really getting. Also, since I am eliminating the Dexters and going to all Highlands which as grass-fed have lower colesterol than Buffalo, I want to make sure things are what they should be. This butcher isn't as convienient as the last as he is in Savana (west of Arlington) and the last was in Snohomish, but he comes well recommended by some of the local members of the Northwest Highland Cattle Assoc. which we belong to.

If you're interested, PM me with your phone # and we can talk off web.

I figure anyone that's a member of TBN and their family is invited. Too bad jinman came to visit his family so early. We could have shown him what a real NW Barbeque looks like!:D

I'm sure it would be a nice break from what is our hottest month in Texas, but I had a hard time convincing my wife to wait until May to come and see the grandkids. I would never have made her wait until August. I'm sure you will post pictures and I'm looking forward to seeing the shindig.
