Cash, credit card, or debit card?

My brother and I were talking last night, he has a cleaning business and can write off a lot of the mileage he drives, so he always pays at the pump with a credit card so he can get a reciept for tax purposes. My wife always uses a debit card for gasoline, and she has no need for the receipts because she never checks her statements. As for me, always straight cash for fuel, I think it has been close to 15 to 20 years since I have used a credit card to pay for gas or diesel fuel.

Am I in the minority by using cash?

Most times I use the good old check. Traveling I use the credit Card ... I only carry cash when I am going to buy some used equipment ... pull the cash out of the bank and pay the guy who's selling.

I have always used a regular credit card and I pay the full balance off every month. My credit card has no fees or expenses so I get to use the bank's money for that month interest free.

I always use the debit card and get a receipt so I can match it up with my bank statement at the end of the month. Don't like carrying cash around.

We use a BP credit card. Give us 5% off of the gas purchase. Then pay off the full balance at the end of the month. We get a cash back check every 6 months of so.

Local grocery store chain here (Meijers) gives you 5 cents off a gallon when you use their store credit card at the pump. WOW. That would translate to about $12 a year which isn't worth much when gas is $3.75-$4.00 a gallon--I don't drive much. 5% off would mean about $40 but I can save more than that by careful buying.

We use a credit card that is sponsored by AAA. We get a 3% rebate each month on gas purchases. When gas is $3.33 a gallon that's like 10 cents off per!
