How do you plow snow?

A few years ago I added a small gas powered single stage blower to my fleet, and that thing is perfect for sidewalks, between cars, or really any small area.

What kind of single stage? Years ago I rehab'd and sold a 1990's Toro CCR2000. It had a Suzuki 2-stroke in it. It worked so well I wished I had kept it. I tried a Ariens single stage with a Tecumseh 2-stroke years later. Put a bunch into it and found it to be not nearly as good as that Toro.

That was a good find! It looks brand new for an older Craftsman unit with a Briggs. I think that's an old Murray designed unit. Better than MTD, about on par with the AYP/Husqvarna based units.

Yeah I think it's about 10-15 years old... It looked like it had never been used

We are getting it pretty good today. I measured about little over 4 inches about 3 hours ago and it hasn’t stopped yet, probably about 6 inches so far. I plowed once but will have to again.

That looks like what we have too. Depending what we get, I'll shovel/plow the pavement and pack down the gravel areas.

It's an Ariens Professional 21, 4 stroke. Probably on par with the Toro commercial blowers... which are very popular with crews in my area.

And the ground is most likely not frozen.

I didn't plow any today, but I did "spread" some.

My wife's 1955 Dodge pickup parks in our garage during the summer and I put it in our barn for the winter so I can park my DD truck in the garage.

I was a bit behind this year and today was finally the day. The barn is accessed by a "field track" which has a couple fairly steep sections to it. There was only about 1" of snow on most parts of it, on grass, but the truck is 2WD with real Summer tires and I sincerely doubt there's 1200# on the rear axle (open diff).

I straightened up on the (clear, paved) road straight across from the access and gunned it. And stalled. Oh, By the way it's got a SBC 305/350 Auto. Got it going again and held my foot on the brake to make sure the engine was ready to go. Made it up the initial transition, across the small flat and almost to the top of the second rise.

Time to pull out all the stops! Reset, power-braked it and revved the engine to the max the torque converter would take (engine is tired, will be replaced in spring with a fresh 383, no rubber was harmed in the process). Made it past the second rise with a slight leveling out, and mostly just wet grass, almost no snow. Chewed up some grass and gravel but did make it!
