I had been using a key fob remote on my tractor and it's relatively weathertight but it died on me today so I have to go to one of the "visor clip" remotes that came with my garage door opener. I would like to protect it somehow so that if I'm operating in the rain/snow it won't die a horrible death. I try to never operate when it's raining or snowing, but sometimes you can't avoid it. Just curious what you guys do.

Have a good one,
Dave

I stop my tractor; get off and walk over to my car garage and push the button to open the tractor garage door. If the people door is closed and locked, I open one car garage door with its key pad and then push the tractor garage door remote. I've a key pad for the other garage door on the tractor garage but haven't put a key pad for the tractor garage door. These new security key pads won't work more than one door like the one on the car garage doors does.

I also have a key fob and another garage door remote opener, but these won't work on these new security openers like are on the tractor garage doors.

I don’t use one up here, but a zip lock bag should do just fine!

I use a zip lock bag, and then put that in a zip up calculator pouch. I can press the button through all of this with no problem. It's not a key fob though, just a standard garage remote.

Zip lock bag works just dandy.

Sounds to me like you are going to have to get a canopy to hold that thing.:D

My remote is in the toolbox under the tractor seat. Hasn't been a problem so far, but the ziplock bag sounds like a good idea. Tomorrow, the remote will be in the toolbox in a ziplock bag. :)

I mounted a small plastic box with a hinged top, painted to match, on the fender. I keep my sun glasses and door opener in it. Works great. It can bee seen, sort of, just in front of the left tail light.
