How do you sharpen you blades?

/ How do you sharpen you blades? #61
Ferrari,
After looking at the end views of your blades I must admit I am jealous of the size of wheel you must have to be able to have such a slight radius on the hollow ground sharpened edge...why, it almost looks like zero radius! The wheel must be in excess of 6 feet in diameter to have a hollow ground edge like that.

Seems to me I remember you from Lawnsite.com. Your comments/opinions caused quite a stir there also...one of the reasons I stopped visiting that site. I appreciate the information without aggravation I find on this site as do alot of others. Please be mindful of what you say and how it affects others. This is a great "community", and as such each should be respectful of all the others when conveying their thoughts (IMHO).

That being said, welcome to OUR community! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I agree, For a public forum this site is exceptionally civil, with no flames or unnecessary BS.

doggone it. Why is it that I never see or understand the offending posts and never understand the responses to those posts.

Must just be dense.

You're not dense Poppa. It was a complicated situation. Posts related to junkmans were removed that were made by Ferrari that were pretty bad. That's why we usually move any posts that were related to the situation. It's kind of like putting together a puzzle and missing half the parts.

Thank you Richard. I must have read Ferrari's last post seven times and could not for the life of me figure out what was offensive about core aerating and fertilizing. Then I started feeling stupid and voyeuristic for spending so much time looking for something offensive. Put the two together and all I was left with was that I was /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have sent the offending post to you Poppa and you can see for yourself how offensive it is...... In all the time that I have been here, I have never seen anything that compares to how bad this one post was!!!! If any one else wants it, PM me.....

I was scratching my head on that one too. I will say one thing about TBN, when I was looking to buy a compact tractor I stumbled across TBN. Since then I read post everyday for about 2 hours (dont post to often) and have not stopped learning since. The amount of knowledge here is incredible.

Amen, Brother Todd! I've learned my lesson on making judgements about people here. I didn't care for the way one of the members posted, but since talking to him, he is now becoming one of my favorite posters. We can't see the actual expression on someone's face when they are typing, and I've learned that some people mean something totally different than what they are typing. Always keep that in mind when reading posts!

If we don't agree with what someone says, send them a Private Message and politely explain the situation. Many times, it doesn't turn out to be what you think. If it does turn out to be someone who really is rude and crass, everyone needs to talk to these posters in a PM instead of on the board, and it will keep the public attacks off the board.
Kindness and civility rule again! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Unfortunate that I have to hop in here with Mike P. on this.
It is hard enough reading and trying to make sense of stuff with the emotional meter in check. Now I have board members reacting to posts no longer here, and moderators telling the board it is like a puzzle.

Well, no kidding. So how about offensive posts getting placeholders, or edits, so at least we know it was NOT related to a valid question?

Sort of like the next reply post to this string?
