How does bx 2350 mow compared to jd 485x

I currently have a John Deere x485 which i have throughly enjoyed other that it sucking the gasoline. Am seriously considering trading it in on bx 2350 with 60"mmm will it mow as good as my x?

What are you trying to compare, exactly?
My neighbor has an X. I've had a BX2200, and now a BX23.
We talk about it all the time.
Both do a fine job mowing.
Depends on which seat you are sitting in.

Just trying to see if the bx will mow any faster and can your neigbor mow a lot more grass on a tank of fuel versus, the x 485? Also my x485 has a really nice cut can the bx make the grass look as good as my x?

I can't compare the BX to the JD because I've never used that JD. I can tell you that my BX 2230 (last year's version of the 2350) cuts a lot faster than my JD L130, but that's because I have a 60" mower now, instead of a 48". Besides, the diesel engine and heavier transmission on the BX allow me to mow up my hills at a much more consistent speed. Finally, the suspended self-balancing mower deck on the BX makes a more even cut than the JD's rigid deck.

As far as gas use, I am AMAZED at the fuel economy of my BX. I can't actually tell you how many gallons its taken to put 50 hours on my BX, but I can tell you its less than half what my JD used (which was a much lighter tractor, with a 23 HP Gas engine).

I just replaced my JD318 with a BX-1850. The 318 had the heavy floating 50" and the Kubota has a 54" floater.

Both are very tough machines. The Kubota diesel engine has more torque and, just runs like a very tough diesel.

I suspect I get two to three times the fuel efficiency and far less evaporation. Of course one is 20 years older then the other so there are some design advantages

I really want to get the bx 2350 here is my main dilemma $3,000, is the bx2350 worth 3,000$ more than my x485. A friend said he would give me 7,000$ for my x, which has the power flow bagger, as well and only 91 hours just can't decide if I should make a move now or wait a few years? John Deere x hasn't gave me a minutes trouble at all and mows 4 acres in under 2 hours just wonder if bx would be better, the main reason I want it is for the diesel engine and 60 inch deck.je

If you can get $7,000 out of a garden tractor I would not even hesitate. If you took that to a dealer to trade you would not nearly that much. The market for used garden tractors is horrible.
