The ad says "never used"... I wonder why?!?

what am I missing here, this does not seem like it work for what I consider a "standard" 3 point hitch. Trailer Ball Three Point Hitch ( new )

Looks like the vertical bar would bolt into the lower drawbar, side arms connect to 3pt side links. This would make it a fixed height so maybe only useful for moving a gooseneck? Doesn't seem as practical as the receiver tube models.

How does it work? My thought would be not at all. I can't see any use for this???

Looks like a brain fXXt to me. Have seen some really neat ideas in here by some very talented folks. Some should take notes on the geometry of a tractor 3pt system and take some suggestions . We all have our personal needs and formulate our systems to that need. When you see something that is upside down and backwards, it really sets the standard lol.

My only thought, the square tubing hanging under the ball would act as a counterweight that would keep the ball on the top.

I could see this working. Imagine backing up to a trailer and catching the top of the ball and rotating it. You would have to climb off the tractor and rotate the ball back to the top. With the counterweight, it would self right the ball.

This was what I was thinking, but was wondering what you guys thought. I had no intention of buying it, as I have the material to make one and haven't done it yet.

I bet 2 guts made a bet just to see if people well buy anything.

The stem of the "T" goes down to the towed implement drawbar, keeping the ball at a set height and stopping twist. Probably made to fit a specific tractor, and not "generic." Maybe sized for a gooseneck trailer.

I don't know of any drawbars that extend back as far as the lift arms so that wouldn't work either. I am in the brain fart arena for the guy that made that. Maybe a barbell weight bolted to the stem to keep the ball up idea is closest to practical but the stem is too long for most trailers as it would drag the ground first before the ball would get in the trailer hitch, gooseneck maybe but most of those are higher than a 3PH will raise

This is what I was thinking also. But it wouldnt fit just any tractor.

Oh, and it certainly dont look new, and is way overpriced, even if it does work.

"Third" point of 3pt hitch is probably the drawbar. Like others have said, specific for a certain tractor/drawbar configuration. Seems like a waste to use the "3 pt hitch" and not be able to raise or lower it.

A strut to the trailer tongue, and you are good to go!. That way, the hitch fits any tractor! And the strut on the trailer could be made to swing away when not required.
