How does your garden grow?

speaking of gardens, I have some urea (Nitrogen) that has hardened into chucks. Would it be ok to till into the garden, or would it be too much nitrogen for planting?

If you do any hand watering, I would think about letting it dissolve in water, then use it. That way you would know how strong you had it.

Thanks. Yours is as well.

SIL's birthday was a couple of weeks ago. I bought him this is garden cart from Northern Tools on sale for $99. 1400 pound capacity, all four sides fold down.

Super handy, was very nice for planting.

Of course I had other reasons, last year young SIL was constantly leaving my wood handled hoes laying on the ground out in the weather. GRRR. The cart gift seems to have worked :)

I've looked at those wagons but haven't been able to pull the trigger yet. As many trips as I make back and forth to the garden, it would come in handy.

It sure would be handy. I often have excess produce that got ahead of me that could feed the cows, but I get tired of carrying armloads to them and leave it to turn back into the soil (not bad either).

I broke the chunks down with a hammer, so it was pretty fine, then scattered a little around the garden then tilled it in. Didn't use too much, so I think it will be ok. Need to get the garden planted soon.

After burning a tree pile today, my wife and I went to the garden to pick DSC05044.jpg and she took the garden basket I made her on Friday and we did great with the sugar snaps, Green Beans, peas, a couple more squash, and another pepper. While I was burning today you can see the jars of Blueberry jam, and syrup she canned today. We picked 7 1/2 pounds of blueberries yesterday. The rest will get frozen for breads, pancakes, muffins, and what ever else DSC05045.jpg

Kev, I like your basket. I picked green beans again this morning. I have a couple three different kinds, so with each picking more are getting ready.

Not from the garden, but Mamma and Sister picked huckleberries down at the pond this morning. Sister borrowed one of our baking dishes and returned it half full of huckleberry buckle. Yum.

That should work good.

We got one this year. Ours is only rated for 800 lbs though. Don't know that it'll ever get close though.

Honest question... Is huckleberry the same thing as our wild black berries? Our Blackberry bushes are just now flowering, looks like a bumper crop again this year.

Okay Larro, my wife is asking why I didn't get the recipe for your "Buckle"

I just used what I had laying around the shop on the basket, but if I were to do it again I would use 1/4" hardware cloth instead of the 1/2"
