How does your garden grow?

Larro " do you guys eat the leaves?" So I pondered your question and did a bit of googling and what I found is that you can eat the leaves of broccoli plants and that they can be quite good. So the Mrs. And I will be giving them a try soon. Thanks for asking the question as now I've one more thing to add to my diet.

This is my first time growing it, so I haven't up to now. But Sister was telling me how good they are, so we will be giving them a try.

I planted more green onions for inside under the lights, and Swiss Chard to transplant into the garden. Got a good stand of both.

I would think they would taste like collard or cabbage leaves.

I got the plastic on the greenhouse yesterday {with lots of help from my cousin and her two kids}, just in time for this morning's frost. I took lots of garden pictures last week when I moved everything from the swimming pools to my new trench, but never got around to posting them.

Well, it is snowing here now. No more garden till spring, no more fresh veggies either. Hope that I can avoid scurvey this winter... BAHH!. My wife says to drink apple cider vinegar and eat pickled eggs. Well, OK... beer goes good with the pickled eggs. My dog ate my Tupperware orange peeler gadget.. and so that will slow my citrus intake. I will need a measure of lemon rum toddy every change of the watch. Ha Ha.

Geez..I hate Canadian winter so bad!---:pullinghair:

Should I prune this to the ground? Got pretty frost bit last winter even covered in snow.

Yes, sorry, it is lavender. And that's what I did last year by accident.
Thanks!

Oh man...you know you just cant beat mother nature.

2 seasons ago I went thru the process to save seeds from a tomato following some seed saving directions I read... fermenting the juices, soaking, rinsing etc. Never did get any germination either after I planted them  and now tonight I had 3 nice tomatoes still left from the very last greenhouse pick down at work before we cleaned out the plants sometime back in late Oct. Yup really :D

And so when I went to cut up two of them (both had started to go bad) low and behold I saw something bright green sticking up in a cut up piece of tomato. At first I thought it was worm , :p BUT it turned out to be a germinated seed and the green was the sprout! Can hardly believe it!
