Yesterday it all turned around. Got up in the rafters to where I keep the wood finishing supplies, and sure enough there was the cutting board sealer. That didn't keep me from falling off the ladder as the front half kicked forward a few inches though. It was a slow fall, and I almost caught myself before finally landing, so no damage done. Always make sure those step ladders are all the way open! Then, just on a whim, checked a little used box of camping stuff, and there was the carbide. Wow! I'm on a roll. Last item on the lost list was a little stubby Snap-On screwdriver that turned up missing a couple weeks ago when 40 or so "friends" came over for a wrenching party/camp out with their air cooled BMW motorcycles. We got lots of work done, but that little screwdriver had disappeared. Lots of places to hide in the garage, though, and sure enough I found it back under a large steel table, the first place I looked. I'm thinking yesterday was one of those rare back-in-the-parallel-universe days when all the lost items become available again.
I'll be curious if the front end loader off the Kubota is still out on the concrete pad where I started a repair on it yesterday. Worn out bushings got me started on it, but I also found a bunch of cracked welds on the boom arms so it's gonna take a complete tear down to get things back to right. Lots of chances to lose more tools...
