How fast can your tractor go the road or street?

Fastracs vary a lot with age , wheel size and wether agricultural or industrial models.
The ones that i have operated ranged from 30-60 MPH /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Excellent machines but hard on equipment.

Most modern manufacturers offer 40KPH transmissions on agricultural tractors, Some now even offer 50K (John Deere,Valtra,Ford,Fendt,Massey. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

It's been real good , My father would say it's the best tractor we've ever had .It certainly does the highest hours of them all.
It's done nearly 10,000 hours , We've had it 7 years and only repaired the seals in the hydraulic remotes.
The gear layout is a little strange if your not a ford man and it is a bit heavy on diesel but lots of power and a good cab for it's age. (1979) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Why would you want to go as fast as your tractor can go on a public road? Perhaps I am confused but isn't that like taking a VW beetle to the nascar track?
Every year I hear about people loosing control of tractors on the highway, many don't make it back home, others just loose and arm or leg. Most of the time its do to excessive speed.
On a serious note, be sure to have a nice life insurance policy, so at least your wife will be able to finally buy the farm and perhaps have a little bit left over for a much needed vacation with the chore boy. Now that would be the macho thing to do! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
