"Any of you other folks have that feature that locks both brake pedals together on your tractors? "

My Deere 790 does have that locking device, as did my old Deere 670. I think you'll find that device on most tractors.

My Kubota L3430 will get 19 mph wide open with slight downhill. When I worked on my Uncle's Dairy Farm in the 70's he had a John Deere 4020 Power Shift that would run about 25 - 28 mph if you over throttled it by pulling a knob on the throttle lever. It turned about 2700 rpm that way.

I didn't like to run it that hard has it was hard on the tractor and bumpy on the road. But the other guy working for him would run it flat out so he got the job of running wagons of chopped hay for the silo. I still think he ran it too hard, but that is full time farming, sometimes the equipment gets beat up to make time.

I was going to tell a story around here about one of the farmers that owns a Fasttrac. Well, I'll tell anyway. It is just now we know it isn't true - or at least stretched a little. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Story was he got a speeding ticket in a 55 MPH zone. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Guess not /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif as the article says 40 MPH max. But I've seen him on the road many times with it and I know one thing when he is coming down the highway with a wagon load of grain behind him the ground shakes and when he is pulling a disk and sprayer or whatever behind him they sway pretty bad - makes you head for the ditch if you are in the opposing lane. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif So his tractor can do it but his implements can't - or at least shouldn't.

( Hi, My Kubota L2800DT tractor top speed is 13 mph. I have heard about some John Deere tractors going up to 25 mph and is this true?

Thanks, Terry )
I have had my JD 4115 up to about 65MPH on the highway...of course it was on a trailer at the time. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

How about one of these? It was rated at 40MPH. I've seen a few on RFDTV and really found them interesting. Way ahead of it's time! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
