Gentlemen,
I just finished doing the 300 hr. tune on the B7800, and I have a question. Before I ask the question though, let me fill in some details. After replacing the hydro filter and the tranny filter and cleaning the strainer, I refilled with super UDT fluid and brought the level up to the top line of the acceptable range on the dipstick. This is the first time I have had the UDT fluid to this level. When I first bought the tractor the level showed to be about a third up between the low and high marks on the dipstick. I subsequently kept the level at about that same point. Also, since I've been running in pretty dusty, dirty, wet conditions since I last tuned, I decided to change everything. All filters and fluids were replaced with all new 'Bota products.
After finishing, I took the tractor out for a little spin to make sure nothing was going to catch fire. While everything seems to be working okay (good hydro pressure, clean starting, etc), I got the feeling like the forward speed was a little less than usual using my normal settings (mid range, 2K rpm). Of course this is subjective since we don't get speedos.
So here's the question. Could the transfer of power to the wheels be affected by too much fluid, even though the level is within the Kubota specs? As I said, I've never had it to the max line before. If not, can anyone think of a possible reason why I'm having this nagging feeling that the tractor if off just a tick? And to head off the obvious, let me say that I didn't have a beer until AFTER the test drive!
