State of mind! When I was 24 I just knew that when I reached 44 I'd be old! Now that I'm 44, I'm thinking maybe when I'm 64 I'll be old. 44, things are just getting good! Course, if you guys are in your 90's please accept my apologies...YOU'RE OLD! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )</font>

I haven't made it to 90 yet, but I'm further than half way. And I've discovered a thing or two. One thing is you get old for short periods of time before it's a permenent condition.

Another is, that old saying "You're only as old as you think you are". . . ? That's BALONEY!

But then again, what's wrong with OLD?

Sure beats the alternative

LMAO. Ive got a 1000 miles on my B3030 in the first 10 hrs of running...running with the parking brake ON.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No indicator..no warning..nothing. But I THINK I cured my problem. Now...every time I set the parking brake..I turn the 4-way flashers on!! Its a good "visual" sign that "something ir running" sort of thing...and Ive stopped trying to drive off with the brake still on...( Geeze...lol)

MFL:

Ron has me beat by a few years. I could have retired last july but why bother. I have toys I still want like another Triumph and what would I do with my spare time....farm, machine shop, motorcycle, show my other bike, none of this would occupy enough time so I keep on working 55+ hours a week at my day job in addition to everything else.

By the way, I'm 56 going on 22. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Daryl,

Hope I can keep the same attitude as I grow older. I'm 44 and I just became a parent for the first time 8 months ago! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm sure this will help keep the motor lubed and running!!

To the point you and the others have made on aging, I've noticed that anybody with an acre or two of dirt to play on seem to do better at maintaining a young spirit. Since buying the farm I've met a lot of folks in the farming community here and to a man (and women) they all have a positive, upbeat outlook on things. Compare this to my 'city' friends and it's night and day!!

My dad (an old country boy) turned 72 last Oct., and when he visits he likes nothing better than to help with the farm chores, bush hog the pasture and take the horses out for long trail rides. I can only hope I have the spirit he has when I'm his age!
