How hot does it get inside a storage container?

I see problems getting things in and out. What's goes in first, come out last. I'd rather have something with the long side open than the narrow end.

I have a 20' one-time-use container with double doors at both ends. Easy access from either end so there is no first-in, last out.

I thought the tool of choice would be a battery powered angle grinder with a good thin blade.
I'd prefer a flexvolt angle grinder.

My 2 containers on my farm were cut into with a hacksaw. Fortunately not everything was taken. Now there are huge boulders in front of doors.

They get very hot!

Use the cool white reflective paint they sell for mobile homes on the roof and it will run a little cooler. Installed vents in my 40 footer. They get very hot if not vented.

I'm tinkering with a couple mini fans I bought and some small surplus solar panels. I went over yesterday but needed to start on rebuilding a loader cylinder on my backhoe.

those move minuscule amount of air so may also try this at a later date.

I also have some white paint purchased for the whole container.

It was just an idea... the thought of getting everything undercover sooner rather than later was appealing. I'll have to wait a while longer though...

I have a 16x16 foot shed started, down near the house where I can put power to it. That's just big enough for the tractor and winch on one side if I use a shoe horn, and the bush hog and tiller on the other. Hopefully the ATV will squeeze into the middle, although it'll be a PITA to move it in and out every time I want to use the tractor. Of course the implements get evicted when I bring the TO home... which will happen as soon as I get a shelter for it.Then I need room for the BH and snowsled, and it would be really nice to have the harrow and plow undercover also. And as everybody knows, if there's ever any empty space it will soon fill up.

Hey all, I just bought a new (one-tripper) 40' high cube container to store my tractor and skid loader in. I wanted double doors (doors on both ends) so I had to buy a new one. Kinda pricey, but hey, it looks brand new. It came with 4 small vents, one in each corner in the upper sidewall. I can fit the tractor with a set of pallet forks in one end and the skid loader with pallet forks in the other end and still have about 6' of space in the middle for some shelves to store misc stuff.

I wanted to get the equipment away from the rodents and the hail. I think this will do the job.

Oh, PS It gets plenty hot in there on these 100deg days here in Tejas.

I had planned on putting vents on mine, after it rained in there from condensation, but after moving it to the shade, I have no indication that has happened again. Mine is rusting (Hey it was free) and maybe that makes for some extra ventilation.[/QUOTE]

I had a 40' aluminum one for storage of scaffolding and left over construction materials in Richmond B.C. where it rained a lot. It would also rain inside constantly from condensation, except under where I had a car-top boat stored so I put other stuff up there and the problem sort of went away. Keeping the sun off of the actual roof seemed to be the cure.

Doors in both ends would be nice. I have been using a container for several years. I now have two. No rodents and bugs is the best feature.

I personally ended up attaching 2 40 foot containers together I cut out the centers which left me a nice big 16 x 40 itç—´ been 90+ degrees here in Michigan for the last two weeks my shipping containers are cooler on the inside then the outside. I installed two big side vents. Plus I raised my shipping containers above the ground. They are also stored in a wooded area which I cleared. So it does give it some shade I was very concerned about the ventilation and heat as well. But mine turned out absolutely perfect. I sealed the roof because the containers leave about a quarter inch gap. When you attach them together. I did not seal the floor. What I did is I ended up installing some medal gutter grades which will keep the mice and critters out but will let the cool air from the ground enter the container.

Just watched a video where someone claims just using cool white roof coating lowered the inside temps 20 degrees during the hottest part of the day.
