Right after I purchased my Kubota, I installed a two spool valve from Summit to control top/tilt. I have noticed that the valve always gets very hot, not hot enough to blister you but definitely very hot. I know some heat is normal under heavy use but when do you know there is an issue and need to investigate?

Can you give us more details on how is this valve connected to the rest of the system?

Normal hydraulic oil temperature should be in the 140 - 180 degrees F depending on how hard you are working the hydraulics.

Recommended max oil temp is usually 220 - 230 F since hotter than that starts effecting seal materials.
