How important is spelling and punctuation to you?

It means zero to me. If a poster takes the time to put some interesting information on here I am happy to read it, not become an English teacher. I certainly can't criticize others because I make my share of typos and other booboos.

Call me pedantic, but spelling and grammar do mean a lot to me.

I can completely appreciate that some people simply do not have the knowledge to employ the skills but at the same time, if you are going to be a member of an online forum where the ONLY form of communication is writing, then a certain standard of grammar has to be present.

I am fortunate that I am and always have been very adept at English, heck I can just as comfortably type on a typewriter than a computer. Not many people (my age at least) in 2015 could cope for 5 minutes without the ability to delete, copy and paste etc...

The way I see it is that I would not go out of my way to bash somebody with poor spelling/grammar, but at the same time unless there is actually something I really want to respond to in their post, I will ignore it rather than wasting an excessive amount of my time in deciphering it.

Unfortunately I cannot employ the same principle at work where I have to respond to all emails et cetera, regardless of grammar...

P.S. Yes I am aware that I just went back to edit this post twice... What can I say, I'm tired and haven't had a coffee yet! :laughing:

Yes, they're all there, and they succeeded in their goal of providing a sentence that contains all the letters of the alphabet. I hope, some day, to think of two more sentences too. Maybe after that, We can wait for someone to come up with four more and when they accomplish that,they can yell fore.:cool2:

They show up on mine as a funny looking 'B', the single letters 'o,u and a' with two dots over them. We can get those letters up by using the ALT key and the number pad. Ü = ALT+154.
