How in the world did I break this (ck20hst)? And some questions.

Derek / Others-

My machine was purchased in June, 2006 however I know from Rick Wallace looking up the serial number it was manufactured in 2003. They still do warranty and everything obviously from date of purchase. Rick looked all of that up when he was helping me diagnose the corrosion in my harnesses (where the tractor can be split in half under the dash panel) from a while back. This is why I mentioned in my other thread my glow plugs could be as old as 9 years, but only have 6 years of real use!

So your machine even though purchased in '06 could have been manufactured at Daedong and such much earlier.

BTW: that is a scary looking axle / front spindle deal... wow.
Be curious to hear more details. Best of luck getting that resolved!

By the way -- I have the shop manual and parts manual for the various CK20H and Gear tractors (no CK20S info). They probably have the axle and spindle assembly exploded view or views.

I have a nice scanner and if I remember this evening when home I can scan the relevant diagrams / parts lists into PDF and post. I think there is an entire chapter in the service manual on the front axle.

Wow Thank you! That would be great.

Thanks everyone else too for the suggestions!

It looks like the snap ring broke. I rebuilt mine because they started leaking. if they let you repair make sure you have all the "O" ring gaskets. They have to be replaced each time you take it apart.

If you repair you need a pretty hefty pair of snap ring pliers.

The other option is just to take the out board end to them to rebuild. 6 bolts and it comes apart

Before I started any work I sure would talk to the dealer. After all if Kioti is helping, even thought the tractor is out of warranty, they don't want someone botching up the rebuild and later saying 'that didn't work send me more free parts'. Pretty good of Kioti to come through after the warranty period expired.

Hi all-

Sorry I didn't a chance to scan the front axle stuff from the shop manual / parts manual last night. I did get to it tonight and I've put the PDF's on my web server.

The 4 one page files are from the "Parts Manual CK20". This manual is Kioti Part # S196-P04 dated June 2006. I believe this covers just CK20 (not CK20S) and I've been told there are updates all the time, but I think this will be good info for you even if it's not the latest rev.

The 2 multi-page files are the entire Chapter 7 of the "Workshop Manual". Chapter 7 is the "Front Axle" -- this manual is Kioti Part # S196-W00 from October 2006

Here is the web link to where I have the PDF files sitting:

http://www.bvwireless.net/ck20-front-axle

Just download each file and look at them with a PDF reader (Adobe.com). Suggest printing the chapter 7 odd pages and even pages and put them in order to make it easier. I used an auto-feed scanner and had to scan one side of each page first, then the other side.

Hope this helps! Best of luck getting that axle / spindle back together.

Wow. They should warranty it. That's pathetic. What's in store for my Mahindra. They just make junk today. I have a 1948 John Deere G and its been trouble free for years. My Mahindra is probably next. You should get years out of these tractors. There is no shame. They will warranty parts but not labor. That's big of them with 450 hours.

Ive seen this axle design back in the 70's on iseki white, and belarus tractors, it was a poor design then and i can't understand why its still used today. I realize most small tractors use this design and i belive its for ground clearnce with small tires giving tight turn radius but a Straigt axle with planetery hubs is the way to go imo.
