You guys have really been getting pasted the last couple of weeks. If you ever get your power back, or if you are running on a genset, tell some stories. Things must really be bad if your weather makes the news on the West Coast. Three blizzards in two weeks, and possibly another one coming? Or is the news just blowing things out of proportion, because exaggeration sells?

I am upstate NY so I think most is east of me. We got two feet this week. No big deal for where we are but get away from the tug hill region and anything over 6 inches sends them into panic.

? Everything is fine here in the NE... sure, we could do with some rain as March has been dry so far but the "Bureau of Many Guesses" are predicting some moisture today and throughout the weekend.

Supposed to be a 'wet' Autumn. We'll see.

Thanks for asking.

Had me going for moment, Wagtail. You still in shorts and a T-shirt?

Hearing just crickets from the folks in NE U.S. Maybe their Internet is still out!

I’m in NY at the north end of the Catskill mountains. I’ve got 4ft of snow in my yard and another storm set to roll in early next week. Looks like the next one will bring another foot or so. It’s been a rough few weeks here that’s for sure. It may seem rough on the news but I think everyone is handling it just fine, we are pretty used to snow here. It usually doesn’t pile on this deep going into March but what can ya do.

Between the few weeks of double digit negative temps from Christmas to just past the new year and now all this snow as of late, this is the harshest winter my area has seen in a few years. Luckily I only lost power once so far for about 10 hours. I have a 10kw standby propane generac that makes power outages no big deal. Anyone with a brain in their skull in this state should have some form of generator, which helps us ride out anything Mother Nature tosses our way. NY winters are funny, some years we won’t get too much and other years it’s just endless snow and cold and as rough as it can be. If you live here long enough you know to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

A fair few people still are in Summer rig but it's early Autumn now, so mild days and cooling nights here in NE Tassie.

I rarely wear shorts at all... the UV index here is brutal. Plus the sight of my uncovered legs has been known to frighten young children & stampede animals.

Well here in southern Washington County of upstate NY it's belly deep on the deer which is some what uncommon for mid March, it's been warm so the ground has thawed prior to the snows.
That should slow down the snow melt runoff, been an unusual winter for me, haven't had to run the generator all winter only one outage that had me get ready to hook it up.
Spring storms are always a royal pain and with lots of the beefers about due to start calving it would be nice to see it dry up a bit.

I'm in southern NH near the seacoast. We've had 3 storms since 1st of March. Storm #1 - 4" snow before heavy rain washed it away. Storm #2 - 14" heavy wet snow. Storm #3 - 24" mostly dry snow. Now they're predicting another storm for 3/20 and 3/21 and it will be plowable snow - too early to tell how much. Have only lost power once and only for 2 hours. Was not worth hauling out the generator. Looks like it will be a little while before I can work on my woods roads again.
