Still looking since thats half the fun!
How long did you shop for a tractor beofre you decided to buy. Would you have waited longer if you could do it all over again?

Maybe 2 months for the first one...I was looking at the BX2200 initially...and a few prices on the B7500.

Friend of mine told me about a Deere 670 at his dealer...that's the one I bought.

As far as the replacement to the 670 (790), can't say I was looking too seriously. Just found a nice machine on Machinefinder's.com and bought it within two weeks.

I started shopping a little more than a year before actually buying, not counting all the years I spent looking at tractors and wishing I had enough room to own one.
I got serious after I bought my grandmother's property after her death.
I started out expecting I would end up with a Kubota, thoroughly investigated the gray market Yanmars, Isekis, Mitsubishis etc. Checked out Deere, New Holland, Farmtrac/landtrac, Mahindra, and host of others before deciding on the CK20HST from Kioti.
Would have waited longer? Yes, if I had known Kioti was going to offer up the CK25/30 models. I suspect that I would have been swayed into getting the CK30 had I seen it at buying time, but otherwise, no because I had really researched enough and knew enough to make the buy. John

I spent a couple of months doing research and building a spreadsheet to help me make the decision on which CUT to buy. I then went to the local dealer to get a quote. I almost had to beg for a quote from the Sales Mgr. After that experience, I went on-line. It took me 6 months to find the model I wanted at a price I was very happy with. So the entire process took about 9 months. I was pleased with the entire experience, except for dealing with the local dealer. Never been back since.

To get to the one I have now, it took about 1.5 years.

I needed a machine and I needed it now. I found a JD850 2wd used for a good price. Bought it even though I knew it wasnt going to be enough. I used that for a year or so until I was in a position to buy what I needed. I was shopping half heartedly the whole time. The last 4 months I got serious and starting to get prices and do comparisons.

I dont think at this time that I would have done anything differently.

Once we decided we were going to get a tractor I belive it took about two months. I had not found this site at the time so my knowledge of brands was limited (John Deere, Kubota, New Holland). I have been very happy with our choice. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It took about 2 weeks to research and buy my B2910.
I was on medical leave at work and needed something to do with my time.
Stopped at the dealer. Did some checking on the Internet. Found the predecessor to TBN and I was hooked.
Within a week after delivery I returned to work. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Did not have time to research after that.

About a year. I checked every dealer and brand within 75 miles. The "boss" wasn't convinced until about 2-3 months before it arrived so I didn't do any serious shopping until then. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If I had it to do all over again, would I have waited? At first I thought I would hold out for the next years model features, but as it turns out there is always something new to wait on. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. I never realized how much I could get done - and how many more things I could do with the right equipment.

I think for me it was 4~6 weeks...start to finish for the first one.

Like Red_rider indicates, nothing beats getting things done that were impossible before the tractor arrived. Except, perhaps, hearing the wife and grown daughters saying at different times things like "You couldn't have done that without the tractor!" or "Boy, that tractor was worth it!" and things like that.

Makes my day... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I waited about a year. I went in shopping completely open minded to all brands. I looked at everything. In the end it came down to a Kubota 3130 hydro 723 FEL BH90 backhoe vs. a New Holland TC-33D with a 7308 FEL 758-C backhoe. I was down to hours making a decision between the two when a used TC-35D hydro 16LA FEL 757-C backhoe came along with 85 hours on it. I bought the used TC-35 and have been happy ever since.

Would I have waited longer ? I did wait quite awhile before buying. My wife and I own several rental properties where we needed landscaping work done. We knew the day would come where we would have to start working on several yards. After several estimates in the thousands of dollars we went ahead and bought the tractor.
