Agree but most radiators don't require removal of hoses to flush and change coolant. Fluids can be changed and radiators flushed without replacing or even disturbing hoses.

That is what I thought too when I attempted to drain my 2007 Chevy Silverado radiator. It has no drain petcock like every other radiator I have seen. You have to remove the bottom hose to drain it. It was a bit difficult for me to get to and after a few skinned hands and a terrible back ache from trying to reach the hose, I gave up and took it to a mechanic shop. He also couldn't believe that it didn't have a drain petcock. Him being about 30 years younger than me, it wasn't that difficult for him to remove it, flush it and put new anti-freeze in for me at a very reasonable price.

Not sure where you got the idea I said you have to remove hoses to flush, or renew coolant.. HS

I bought a used 2000 Century Buick last year. One owner with 80K miles on it. Replaced the water pump in the fall and replaced the hoses and belt while we was doing the water pump and flush. Looked like the hoses were original and showed some signs of deterioration. 16 years was long enough in my book. I usually inspect every 5 years with anti freeze flush and replace if needed. I usually trade every 5 to 10 years so sometimes they don't necessarily get changed. Can't ever remember a hose blowing on me. Watch one let loose now.
