How long does it take to repair a clutch and piston a John Deere 955 ?

How long does it takes for a professional tractor mechanic, with access to a full-set of tools and a lift to dis-assemble the transmission, remove the front gear case cover, replace the clutch, clutch plates, snap rings, clutch springs, and piston. and last re-assemble everything? 1day, 2days, 3days 4, 5?

Not to specifically address your question or concerns, but several years ago, my son was a part of the crew for the viper number 93 in GTLM racing. The driver radioed in that he was having traction issues. They had him come to the pits for tire change. If I remember correctly, this was at Sebring.
Well they found the drive lugs (my term not theirs) were faulty. These are what we would call lug studs, but for them there us 1 lug nut in the center thin drive lugs or pins. They changed out both drive hubs and put the car back on the track. They also ran the 91 viper on the same team but separate crew, brought it in and found the same damage occurring. Performed same repairs. Long story shorten, both cars came out of that race due to a batch of improperly hard lugs.

Bottom line with a near 30 year tractor, you never know what you will get into when you start such a project. Some of those issue would be factor into a shop hour estimate, but......

on a car or truck, 1 day at most.. certain tractors may take a bit longer to get things removed, but it's easy once it's in an easily accessible bench..

Regardless of the time to accomplish the repair, you also have to figure in the dealers backlog and where you are in his list of priorities. If it is harvest time you have to expect his big customers in the middle of harvest will get priority. Curious as to why you are asking this question here. Why not just ask the place where you are having the repair done?
