We are seeing a large # of carjackings around here as of late,,Just today,,another woman was carjacked by 1 of these thugs at gun point..Her small children were still in the back seat.. The carjacker drove about 2 blocks away and ditched the car with the kids still in the back seat.. Guess he didn't want the kids..
Had this woman been armed ,and aware of her surroundings,, things may have turned out differently..
Other ways they are carjacking around here is,, They bump into you with their car.. When you get out to inspect the damage, they pull a gun and take your car

If he had a gun pointed at the lady and he sees her going for a gun, I'd bet he'd shoot first, before running away, which would have put her and the kids in even more of a bad situation. Not knowing the specifics, of course, its hard to say.

That's why I also stated ,,B aware of what's going on around you..Sure, if someone gets the drop on you..Not much you can do but give it up, even If you are armed with a tank

Excellent book, as all of his books are. That one is a favorite and should be read and understood by the majority of people.
I have carried daily for 25 years on duty and off duty. I never have less than 2 extra mags for whatever weapon I am carrying. As an old friend once told me without bullets it is just a fancy **** rock. I have never had to use it but would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

:scratchchin: what kind of tank are we talking about here, I can think of some tanks that would give a lady a pretty fair advantage over a highjacker driving a car and armed with a handgun

Here in SC a concealable weapon as defined by the law has restrictions, by barel length and caliber. A M4 or AR15 does and would not qualify. I think the caliber would be fine its just the barrel length thing that would get you. I am pretty sure it says no weapons larger than .45 caliber and no shotgun larger than .410 bore. The barrel length i think is something like 8-9"s i beleive.
