A revolver holds less rounds ,and is no ''better'' than a semi auto.. The reason I mentioned an M16 ,is because you mentioned home defense..Most wouldn't wouldn't CC a 44 either I do agree that a revolver has less to go wrong,But so did the vehicles of the 60's-70's

My home defense gun has to be a handgun. I doubt there will be many 2015 vehicles or tractors around in 2070.

I like to hedge my bets, for home defense, I have pump shotguns (00 buck thank you) and some 9mm semi-autos and yep one 38 special revolver. You can't very well answer the door with a pump gun. But out of bed in the middle of the night, the shotty is my first choice.

Wouldn't be a great idea to break in in the daytime either. Now ringing the doorbell is perfectly fine. When you think about that preachers wife raped and shot dead by a couple of punks the other day, it makes you think. Husband was just out for a run, and she was home alone, defenseless. Now dead. A beautiful young woman, killed for no reason. It is very sad.

Yep. Saw a news story the other day about home defense systems. I usually don't pay much attention. But in today's crazy world one item that I thought was very worthy was a camera at each door. So the monitor can be viewed prior to opening the door. Then the residents would of course need to develop the habit of never opening the door without first taking a peak.

Don't mean to sidetrack. But in the instance you mentioned, you can't rehabilitate people like that. They need tried and if guilty executed in an expedient manner.
