How many hours do OEM front tires last on average?

I purchased my first tractor - brand new in '82. When I traded it in - 2009 - the tires were still in very good shape. My tractor was ALWAYS stored in one of my carport stalls - out of the sun. They were R1's and had 1600 hours on them.

The OP is definitely doing something that causes excessive wear.

On my JD 285 fronts went due to side wall failure at about 25years and 1000 hours.

My 318 lasted 25 years, then thanks to the city road project that brought up metal objects that they had in their back fill and restoration top soil, that ripped my sides walls out twice.

Not on my machine. As I said in my first post, I'm looking at another one with right at 400 hours on it.

I don’t think you’re looking at the best points of wear. Check the under side of the deck, check the belts and pulleys for wear, check the deck wheels for wear, check the front side if the deck for wear. Check that the hour meter works.

Yea, I probably wouldn’t care about any of those things. It’s a lawnmower not a second hand space ship.

You're right. I'm just looking at some photos, hours and price at this point, and the front tires on a couple of 'em stuck out like a turd in a punch bowl. I also have a vintage GT275. Original tires still look like new.
