Backhoe how many hydraulic lines needed to run a backhoe?

Thanks for the info and link to the diagram! I have some follow up questions:

My tractor will have a hydrostatic transmission. Is that a separate hydraulic system, or is it in series with the attachment hydraulics?

Also, you said the FEL was usually ahead of the backhoe or 3 point hitch in the hydraulics loop. If the hydro transmission is in the same loop, is it first in line?

In other words, is the order of the hydraulic devices as follows:

transmission
FEL
3 point hitch
rear remote hookup

with the understanding that a BH would take the place of the 3 point hitch and rear remote hookup

On Kubotas (and probably NH, JD and Kioti) the hydro transmission is on its own seperate circuit with its own charge pump and charge relief.

On most models the power steering also has its own pump and circuit.

The typical circuit configuration for implements has the hydraulic pump first (obviously), then the FEL, followed by any rear remotes, and finally the 3pt.

All 3 circuits (hst, power steering, implements) use the same tank reservoir. The plumbing on some makes and models may share certain components but for the sake of this discussion, each circuit is treated as its own entity. Usually, but not always, when a spec sheet states hydraulic flow they are only talking about the implement circuit.

On my Kioti CK20, the two hydro lines were tapped off the FEL hydraulics and run back to the backhoe. In order to make the BH work, I must move a lever on top of the main hydro control ports, and when the BH is disconnected, I move the lever back or the tractor won't run good, and the loader won't work.
The 3pt hitch is active even when the BH is connected, which rather surprised me, but it goes up and down regardless of connection of BH. John
