I thought Suzuki did.... ;)

From four wheeler magazine's "The Worst 4x4s Ever!" article:

"The power on these little trucks was incredible…for a sewing machine. In fact, the drivetrain is so bad the transfer case decided to get divorced from it! There’s also no way you can sleep in a Samurai, so it’s no good for camping either. The Samurai is a fun little 4x4, but driving one means you’ll get compliments like, “Cute car, my sister had one of those!” and “They still make those?” Or you’ll get people pointing and laughing uncontrollably at stop signs."

Many farmers and ranchers like them for around the farm. Cheaper than an enclosed 4 wheeler to run and buy.

Yes they are handy machines, that's for sure. Consumer Reports panned them because of rollover concerns. There was a lawsuit for something like 8 years.

Like towards the end of this video.... relatively low speed.

But, it's kinda obvious the CR was determined to make the Samurai look bad... here's a 2 part video on how they did that. Very interesting. Be sure and watch through the 2nd part as well.

About 10 years ago we bought a new AWA TV. It kept breaking down right from new. AWA decided to pull out of Australia and left another company to honour warranty. They repaired it 3 times and then didn't want any more to do with it.
I threw it to the tip when it was about a year old. Family gave us some used flat screens, 32" and 55" and they still work but are too old to get all the channels. They need set top boxes. One set top box blew up so we lashed out and bought a Hi Sense 65" Smart TV. It has been a fabulous TV and I can watch it without my glasses. So far we have had it for about 7 months. The 55" is a plasma and is suffering from burn in now so I can see a 75" in the future.

As long as you have basic tools and some mechanical ability, the internet makes fixing just about anything, from cars to appliances, possible.

Google the make and model, and your issue. Most of the time, you will find what you need to know, in a few minutes.

In the case of electronics, when you can't get a PC board, or an exchange repair for a fair price, the parts needed to do you own repair are often for sale in a nice bundle. Or, if you are a little more savvy, you can find them yourself for even less money.

It's pretty easy to solder in something like a power supply transistor, and fix a board for almost nothing.

I once saved a $650 ECM furnace motor by replacing a thermistor on a PC board inside it. It didn't take any special technical knowledge to see the thermistor had turned to charcoal. And, a simple internet search confirmed that it was a common defect. I was cold for a few days waiting for the part to come, but my heart was warmed by the thought that for $3, It was going to be back in business.

We have a TV in our room that I picked up for free along the side of the road, it didn't want to stay on, would flicker on and off. Replaced the power supply board with one off of eBay for 30 bucks and it's been good for a year and a half now.

But you have to understand that a lot of people would be afraid to take the back off of the TV even if they could figure out how to do it, and wouldn't know a power supply from a threshing machine. Nor what its purpose in life is. To a lot of people all technology is "black magic". They don't have a clue how anything works, and really don't even want to know.
