So, around here, vacant property means dumped RVs, boats, carcasses, and general trash, as well as a few tree companies that dump entire 40 cy truck loads.

So, part of issue; ill go to the dump, and so will most people, upto the point you start making it hard on me. You want to limit to 5 tires per year, fine; but the county is going to be fishing 15 more tires from their ditch... I took an entire hot tub in for mom, and they refused it. So, although I was tempted to just throw it off the trailer somewhere, i ended up cutting into like 8 pieces are sneaking it into the trash
Sawzall is your buddy. Anything that won't fit in the trash bin gets halved with the sawzall and halved again until it fits in a trash bag, and in the bin it goes.

My dad used to burn everything in an old culvert pipe. Anything that was left after the fires got put in old galvanized trash cans. About 3-4 times a year, when all the cans were full, we'd take em to the dump.

At our current home, on about 1 acre, I take all yard waste, rocks, dirt, etc... to the back of the property and pile it along the property line. It all rots down and over the 30 years we've been here, there's a nice 3' high berm by about 10' deep across the entire property line. There is no neighbor behind us, just a vacant woods, so no eyesore to anyone. If I need soil for a landscape project, I just take a bite with the tractor.

My place has a bunch of old horse drawn farm implements, that survived the WWII scrap drives. One steel tractor wheel has a pretty big maple tree growing up inside it. I'm working on clean up, but it's not a huge priority...

On that hot tub, I actually tried to burnt a quarter of it.... That was so nasty black, chemical smelling smoke I ended up putting the fire out, and cutting it down into 1/8ths to sneak in trash bags

All types of glass, cast iron and aluminum pots & pans, bed springs, steel and aluminum cans... the list goes on. Mostly the stuff is on top of the ground, just under years of leaves. Looks like over the years when the property was still part of the family farm they dumped a load of trash/junk here and there at random.

The previous house was built in 1910. It was only on an acre but used to be the house of a much larger farm. Every time you would stick a shovel in the ground you'd get something. Broken pottery, farm implement parts, lost count of the number of marbles we dug up. When we rebuilt the staircase in the house we found newspaper fragments from 1914 among the rubble.

About a mile from the house there's a stretch of road about a quarter mile long where you can't see a house. Every week, at least, something has been set off on the side if the road. Furniture, appliances... you name it.

This thread reminds me of a different but similar topic; derelict boats. Apparently a lot of people bought old boats in the Covid days but found how expensive they are so just walked away from them. Now harbormasters and towns are trying to get rid of them.

I had to get rid of a 16' junk fiberglass boat that came with the good trailer I wanted. I ended up cutting it into semi-manageable pieces to take in to the dump. Couldn't burn it. Not easy at all.

I stopped on a side road a few weeks ago to get rid of some excess coffee and saw that somebody had dumped an old Bayliner on the edge of the woods. Of course I had to check it out and noticed it was sitting on a nice trailer.
The next time I went by it was gone. Hopefully the dumper got caught and paid disposal fees as well as a tidy fine.

On boats, they are Very difficult to get a title for in Florida. People die, titles get lost, boats get abandoned, hurricanes, ect. So, if you find an abandoned boat, even on your own property, it takes either some creative fraud, or a good chunk of money to get title.

Even stuff like Kayaks, Jon Boats, plastic pond hoppers, even with just a trolling motor need registered, but if it never leaves your pond, you likely never bothered.

So, some of these boats could be repaired, the haul atleast, but it does no good if you can't get title

Had an old fiberglass shower stall to get rid of when we remodeled the bathroom about 10 years back. Don't know how they got it in there, but I had to cut it in pieces to get it out. Went into the "demoliton" dumpster at the dump. They'll take 'most anything there, but it costs...there's an "official" schedule, but the actual price is whatever the dump attendant feels like charging that day.
