Yep, a JD 41 B I think, then a MM model Z. I recall, washing the grease off my hands by losing the fuel filter and using the gas. Just a knob on the bottom to the glass bowl.

growing up with the family bussines being a roll-off trash company i learned to drive in a R model mack roll-off. I just couldnt wait for the weekend to come when i was in the 4th grade so i could go play with trucks. However, when i wasnt doing that, i was driving a farmall cub or a wheelhorse. fun stuff

First thing I ever drove was a JD L110 Lawn tractor, then came the JD 2210 which I truly learned how to operate a tractor. After that, well I lost track. :D

I was about 6 when I started driving the Cockshutt, which we always called a FIAT (I was 5 when we got it - our first tractor replacing 6 horses). Had to stand on the clutch with both feet to get her stopped - not sure what I would have done if I'd have needed the brakes!
IIRC, my first time on the tractor was pulling the potato digger. My dad rotated taking us kids out of school to help him. He sat on the digger to run it & keep the tops from plugging it up. The drills more of less guided the tractor, except at the end of the field.
Loved that old beast - me & my 3 brothers put that thing throught the ringer over the years. One of my brothers said he saw it last year - still going strong but mainly used in the winter for snow clearing.

Started on a Ford 8n and a MF. Graduated up to Dad's Chevy truck with 3-speed on the column.

I grew up farming, so my brothers and I were driving tractors at an early age. Ford 600 and flip the seat back so we could stand on the pedals; legs too short to reach the pedals and too light to depress them if we could. Doing that day in day out was work and not fun.

My first driving experience was at the age of 9 on my uncle's 8N or 9N. Can't remember which one since he had both.

My first job was towing a hay trailer while my older cousins loaded bales. I still remember the first time I got to drive it on the gravel road to another uncle's farm. The neighbor's bull took special interest in me and broke through the fence headed in my direction. I was sure glad I was in third gear!

My first tractor experience was on a 1975 John Deere 2030 at the age 5. I used it the pull gravity wagons and rake hay. We still have it! I also drove and still driving a 1950 Case DC tricycle front that my grandmother drove. Now, tractor is 62 years old and still fires right up with one turn of the hand crank or the touch of the push button. I'm twenty years old and now the Case DC is mine and I have restored it and taken it to the shows. It gets a lot of interest from the public. We still have that 1975 John Deere 2030 and we use it to square bale, rake and bush hog with. Both are true workhorses!

I learned on Granddaddy's 8N. I don't remember how old I was, but it sure made me feel like I had become a man.
