How many people have to change their clocks tonight?

Ultra, how man of those hospital clocks do you have to reset manually? When I was a facility manager for the Navy we would not let folks mess with the wall clocks for safety reasons. Most equipment was either operator done or were automatic being tied o the internet. Took one guy most of a day to go around, change batteries (did that at the same time once a year whether they needed it or not) and reset the clocks.

Any clock I actually care about changes itself. But who cares about that? I hate this time change.

Yeah it is time to get rid of it. The reason for it has disappeared. Didn't this start in WWII to save gasoline? Farmers I know hate it. AZ has it right.

I get the essentials done in less than a day...

As for hanging things are getting a ladder... that is not left to the staff.

When I fastened something to the wall... it stays there... not like the push-pins I often find used which are little more than a wing and a prayer.

Clocks have been broken by people not putting them back in the slot or bracket or not knowing how to remove... it sounds simple and it is... but still a problem area...

I use to have to do the time clocks and computers... these are self correcting now...

First year I did not do the parking lot timer for the lights... boy did I hear about that one in the Spring with spring forward!

WWI... the Germans started doing it and the Allies adjusted to it for logistical/planning/communications reasons. I guess that it's somewhat of a legacy from then.

We now live in a digital age.

I only have 13 to change. And I did it all YESTERDAY morning, as I usually do. Then my wife can gripe about the tv guide being wrong. And I can definitely tell that old age is overtaking me. Had to get the manuals out of the glove compartments on both vehicles to remember how to reset those 2 clocks, when they are both VERY simple to do . . . if you remember how.

And I, too, would vote for doing away with the time change twice a year.

Dang it... I missed the pleasure. I'm in Asia on business. I love that feeling that I got an extra hour of sleep. In the spring I like it too because the days are getting longer and suddenly I am awarded an extra hour!

That said, I will be flying home Friday and arriving before I left! :cool2:

Most of my clocks - computer and weather station - are tied to the internet. They change automatically. Two others are manual - one I never change - its on standard time - - the other I do manually & new battery.

Daylight savings is a farce. The original reasons are so far over the horizon as to be out of sight.

That's true but I like to find the positives.

Living in the PNW, I do enjoy the long daylight hours in the summer when I am outside more. In the winter, I tend to hunker down more, so the shorter days I will accept in trade. :D

You do have a valid point there dragoneggs. However - being retired - my only real concern is - what month is it? The day of the week - hour of the day - - quit being of concern LOOOOONG ago...........
