How Many Risk Assessments Do You Need ?

Welcome to my world.

I have to go thru the TSA bs only to end up with the aircraft control yoke right in my little hands. Does this make sense at all? I was also told that my 2 "D" cell flashlight was not allowed because it is considered a weapon. The only problem with that situation is that the FAA requires that I have a 2 "D" cell flash light in order to do my job. So who wins?? Yes, let's hand more power over to hte gov't since it works soooo efficeintly!!!

Here is some to think about that I read just recently. The Feds took over a brothel in Nevada for failure to pay taxes. They tried to run the place to recoup the taxes (yeah, right!) and still couldn't make a profit so they sold it. If the Feds can't make a profit with a brothel in the middle of Nevada, I don't how they are going to straighten out this complex economy.

Well, of course! Look how much money they waste with the one in D.C.:eek::eek:

Another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
I didn't have to apply to the TSA when I was licensed, but the TWIC card is pretty much mandatory for everyone working in a "high risk" facility/location based on DHS criteria. (Try going thru Customs at international ports..geesh)
I've got a friend that trucks chlorine cylinders and is "supposed" to notify his dispatcher at every stop and at certain time intervals if too long between stops.

Are you looking at local or OTR?

Good Afternoon Jeff,
Its all local stuff...

Sheesh, chlorine cylinders, no thanks those guys actually have SCBA's on their truck in case they need to fix a leak ! I will stick with #2 #4 fuel oil , kerosene etc ! :)

BTW I see your a fireman ? I have been a volunteer for the past 25 years.

22 years myself (industrial fire & hazmat, + 15 yrs with the VFD.)

Yeah, I tell him to keep it in the cylinders. Stand alone there is nastier stuff out there, but chlorine is incompatible with just about everything.

We've got 4 tractor/trailer rigs (2 foam tankers, 2 hazmats.) Don't see the responses we use to. Seat time's been a little scarce, haven't been out of State in quite some time.

I have had tow patients that told me about obtaining their TWIC card. They had felonys over 5 yrs old and they were given 10 years to "buy them back". They had to appear before the county judge and fork over about $1500 to get a clean record. Nothng but a money mill and every one has figured out how to get their share.

My record is squeaky clean and I still had to fork over a fair amount of $$$ to get to this point ! ;)

Hopefully its all worth it ! :)

....
The only good thing I can see with the TWIC card, is that it has your mug shot on it, and without somebody at the terminal gates checking the driver to the TWIC card, your not going to gain admittance....

There is a whole lot more to the TWIC card than meets the "eye". Hence the cost and numerous "assesments".

Google up on it. It is quite a program.
