Last post you wrote:
"I didn't say it has anything to do with diameter."
"What I did say is that it is normally spec'd as a multiplier of it's diameter."
??????????????????
If it doesn't have anything to do with diameter, then how can it normally be spec'd as a multiplier of it's diameter?
I understood exactly what you wrote, which is tragically incorrect. I've been working with hoses 22 years and have never seen any hose bend radius expressed as a multiple of it's diameter. It sounds like you made an educated guess at the correct answer which does sounds logical, but it is not correct.
My point is, I would hate to see some poor guy spend his hard earned money on a hose only to receive bad info and have the hose ruined and have to buy another.
Please don't be offended as I was not taking a shot at you, just trying to steer the gentleman that needed the info in the right direction. Sometimes people think I am being a jerk because I tell it like it is. If that is being a jerk, then I am guilty.
I do not think you were being a jerk at all. I have to agree with you that it is all to do with how the hose was made. I have some thin hose that you think would be easy to bend and it is like a rod and some very bendy thick stuff.
