How much does a canopy add to overall height of tractor?

/ How much does a canopy add to overall height of tractor? #11
It varies with tractor model - but as an example, my R4 Industrials are about 4" smaller in diameter - so the axles are 2" lower than with R1 Ag tires. There are many discussions on TBN about R1 vs R4 tires, with pros and cons of both. R4's hold up better on pavement - and will do many jobs just fine. R1's give more traction - good for ground-engaging attachments like plows & harrows - also nice when pulling a haybine or baler on slopes.

If your barn opening is 103" and the tractor is only 97.2" on Ag rubber, there should be enough clearance - even with a canopy and tire chains. Are you expecting a buildup of ice to reduce the 103"? One of my doors is only 3/4" above the canopy when my winter chains are on. Works ok.
