How much Generator for a well pump??

A lot of vehiles have a tube that comes out of the tank and has a rubber cap on it. This is located in different places on different vehicles. On my 89 Chrysler van it was located above the left rear wheel. You could get to it without going under the vehicle. Trace the lines from the gas tank and you can probably find it. It is for emptying the tank when you have to drop the tank and change out the fuel pump or fuel sender. It's about 1/4 in diameter.

1/4" is small but will still pull a syphon. I used to drain the fish tank by syphoning through the small 1/4" or so air pump lines. It was a clear line and a 10 gallon tank. It just takes longer than a garden hose.

I drained a mostly full 26 gallon tank in an hour of so if memory serves me right. Heck you could feed this line right to the generator once you got it started.

Next time I'm extra dirty,will crawl under and look,,,,since its for draining the tank,it should be on bottom part of tank,[you would think?],,therefore you wouldn't need to get a syphoring line in,right?Just bring it down,,,will look tommorow and see,,as long as you could take it down and get that cap off without cutting something or other,that would be the ticket alright,we'll see,,,thanks,,thingy

Crawled under toyota today and looked,,its got two hoses alright,but both go to filler neck and connect somewheres on top of tank,didn't see any others,,there is a skid plate under tank,drain might be under that,,but you'd never get to it easily,,,,,so,,looks like a 10 year old toyota tacoma is not going to let you sypher gas,,,,will check 5 year old ford f150 and let you know there as well,,,thingy

If your fuel injected car or truck has a schrader valve on the fuel rail, a hose adapter could be used on the valve to drain fuel into a container while the vehicle is running, using the vehicle's fuel pump. Kinda like teeing into a pressure hose. Well not kinda like, it is teeing into the pressure line. We use this method sometimes to fill our fuel injection cleaning unit, and it works fine. I'd have to check if your Toyota has a schrader, I don't remember off the top of my head.

It's on the top of the tank so it has to be siphoned. Toyota may not have it, I have not checked.

Looked at the f150 fords gas neck connections,they are the same as the toyota,both main and vent goes on top of tank,,,so looks like you can't sypher out of these two any ways with out tearing up something,,guess if worse comes to worse,would just have to start and stop generator,,,just enough to flush the tolit and get some heat in the house,,,but,,knock on my sore head again,,the longest its ever been out here in 14 years is 14 hours,,,I got 20 gal of gas,full tank in gen.,,and two big lawn mowers full,,so maybe two days worth,,thingy
