Being new to the tractor world, is there a trick on when to stop pumping the grease into a fitting ?

Also, is there different pressure requirements for differenting fittings i.e. will a small grease gun do the same job as a large one ?

I usually stop when I see new grease coming out in most cases. There are some spots that have sealed bearings that you don't want that. For instance my blade spindles on the MMM are sealed so I just give them a squirt.

As long as you can get the grease in, the size of the gun does not matter.

On most fittings, I keep pumping until I hear the "squirt".

However, check your manual for any special grease requirements, for example, the pumpkin on my PTO shaft takes 25-30 pumps of grease every 8 hours of use.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned. On things like tie-rod ends, there's a rubber seal that will swell as you pump grease in. Don't over do these seals. When you see it start to swell, that's enough.
