I whine to myself when I have to drag the welder out of the barn to do my own stuff. I can't imagine having to load it up and go somewhere. And if I had to secure a tank or two, that has to add to the misery three times over. :ROFLMAO:

it all depend who comes in to do it... a professional with a service truck wont show for less then a specific amount usually is a minimum of 3h charged even for a 15minute job or it would be a flat fee for service call then a hourly rate... I agree with the no less than $300 estimate ... a acquaintance with a welder could show up and do it for less he would probably charge around $150 .... or a friend could do it for a case of beer... definitely a lot cheaper if you bring it to them.

You can lose money or break even staying at home and doing nothing, so don't go out and do work to lose money or break even.

Hi everyone, I would like to have a investigation. How much if ask a welder come to your home and weld a 2" length small metal plate on the attachment you there? Not in China, but the cost for this service in the US.Nox Vidmate VLC

That's small work for me, less than ten minutes. But not easy for someone doesn't know welding.
it's about the equipment costs, transportation costs, time to get there, set up, prep, weld, pack up, hopefully get paid in cash or a check that doesn't bounce or suck up the 4% credit fees, etc.

We had a machine need such simply welding work under warranty, we told that customer that we will pay for that welding work. Then a few days later he sent us that bill, $600 for a 2 inch length welding work, I was shocked, he explained to us that was a door-to-door service and it was expensive.

Anyway, we paid that bill, it was under warranty. I m just feeling the service cost is expensive so I started this post.
