I have an m6 and just purchased a 5 bottom plow. I only use the tractor in the snow so I have snow tires on it. I have not gotten to test it yet but suspect traction may be an issue. I have no fluid in. If I filled all 4 tires I expect to pick up around 3k pounds. I am not looking to put the R1's back on. I would certainly think I would feel 3k pounds? This is the first tractor I have ever had not filled. Thanks

Try it first, then you may want to fill the rears or get some bolt on iron.
Is that a full mounted plow or semi-mounted.

I got to try it on a very nasty patch in my back yard. It is actually a road I put in but needed a place to try it. I have folks asking for plowing once in a great while so picked one up cheap. May never use it. In my yard I could not pull it. I also had a hard time getting it to sink it was so dry and hard. It is a semi. I expect if I got on some decent ground it would be better. I also have none right now to test it on so I said I would ask here if folks ever had anything they could not pull and added weight and pulled it. Putting on the R1's the tractor came with are not an option. 4000 in rims to get set up to pull a plow that may never go out does not make sense. I figure if someone does want to hire me I can add rim guard quickly. I am in an odd situation.

Is the plow built in a way that you can simply unbolt one bottom? That might be easier than adding weight.

It may be possible but the smaller the plow the less acres it can do so the less I can charge and the price of the tractor stays the same. I can put weight in all 4 wheels for 1500 and right now that appears to be the least expensive way. I think 3000 pounds will make me pull it quite well but wondering how many others have done this. My dealer thinks I can pull it just the way it is if I get on good ground. I think only time will tell but need a plan B in a hurry if they are wrong. I can fill the tires quickly. Beside a little embarrassment I expect the fluid will do it. When I was a kid we pull 5-16 with a 766 2wd. I really need to find a test plot.
