How much rear ballast on a BX2660?

I have the ballast box that goes with a BX25 and on it is posted to add 300 lb. to it for a BX Series tractor. I think the box weighs 75-100 lb. so I would say in the 375-400 lb. area total. I have used the FEL with this at that weight with no problem, although the BH is a better counter weight.

Ditto above, except that I don't have a backhoe. I've met the limits of the FEL with either the ballast box loaded or my rear blade (about 300 lbs) without any problems. My turf tires are not loaded nor do they have weights. I like the Kubota balast box vs the RB because it fits tight quarters better. My box is stored empty ususally and can be moved around. I load it as needed which isn't much trouble and can drop some chain or tools in also.

I use a box blade for counter weight, but mine is a little on the light side. On my "to do" list is to make a counterweight out of a plastic 55 gallon drum and some concrete.

TripleR,

I like those wheel weights. Are they factory? Are they steel or iron? How do they attach? It looks like two bolts going in there but what do they attach to?

If you look at any of the rims (Kubota, Deere, etc.) they have a fairly standard set of square holes on the outside of the hub. There are 4 holes and his weights are bolted on (I'm sure) to 2 of the holes. Because they are a standard pattern for the 4 holes, you can get green or red weights and they'll still fit. It's just a matter of how heavy they are. Most of them are 50 lbs or less.

Yep, I found a picture of our old BX2200 where you can see the attachment points you mentioned.

Exactly! I bought a set of brackets that use all 4 holes. These have a solid bar coming out that you can mount those unused free weights stashed in your son's closet. I actually have an Olympic weight adapter on them, so I can add 50 lbs in just seconds (could probably fit more, but that's all I have). I got them from ebay. It's certainly not for everybody, but it works nicely for me as a supplement to the loaded tires and weight bar on the 3ph. The stability factor went up a lot.
