- Only garden tractors and tillers at this time. But our family farm(s) have lots of John Deere tractors.
My seed catalog says 6 sweet corn seeds per gram. 454 grams per pound =~ 2724 or so seeds per pound.
--)> Thank guys. It's been 20+ years since I've done this, I just needed a jump start to get me going.
-- My uncle use to plant the sweet corn for me and I would sell it down by the main road. I can't remember the specifics but I watched as he divided up the seed between the hoppers. We always used peaches & cream. We would eat and granny would can, and I would sell the rest. All I had to do was pay my uncle back for the cost of the seed. I always sold out every year and made a few hundred dollars.
-- I only want to have plenty to eat, plenty to can, and some to sell/give away. I don't want anything big until I've had a year or two to catch up with the times.
-- I've got this idea about planting some popcorn a few years down the road....Our neighbor, who has since died, had good success with it.
