The only reason I edited your pics was because they were just a little too large, and as a result, a person would need to scroll to the right to view them. At least that was the case for me.
Although posting pics as attachments is the preferred method, you certainly can post in line photos. It is just appreciated if they are sized so that there is no scrolling needed for viewing. And again, by posting pics as attachments gives the viewer the choice of opening them or not.
But you are absolutely correct that you can post in line pics.
