Brandi, thanks for the info. Boy are you talented, not sure I could do that, zero seat time on excavation equipment, but ready to try. Did you ever get the cedar tree planted on the island?
Perhaps you could just put a wind sock on it...![]()

Never found a cedar to plant. I did, however, plant a small oak tree there. I thought it had died with all the draught. When I could walk up on the island, just before dredging.........I found the oak tree about the height of all the weeds and thriving. A friend gave me a 4 foot high balsom cypress tree to put out on the island. But it has been full since then and I have no boat to get out there.
The excavator has a switch to change the controls to either "JohnDeere" controls or backhoe controls. Since I have hours and hours on my backhoe, it was natural running the ex after the dealer switched it over by the switch under the seat. Simple.
Some older large excavators have to have lines swapped. I think it is an option nowadays well worth the price.
