How not to change your mower blades

/ How not to change your mower blades #31
I guess that is the difference between consumer mowers and pro mowers. On my scag I drive up on one ramp and remove the easily accessible le nut from the TOP of the deck and the blade shaft along with blades drops out on the floor. With impact wrench it takes maybe 5 minutes to change out all 3 blades.

Correct.

Yes and one other thing is valve adjustment . if that engine is an overhead valve briggs engine and it is out of adjustment. It can put a heck of a strain on the starter motor, and also cause the starter solenoid to fail from excessive current draw. Hard to believe that a valve adjustment could cause an engine not to crank.. but it can. I have a nice new starter motor still in its box to prove it.. (the don't take them back).

or here is a video of the no start problem and perhaps a better explanation.

Ditto.. Though I actually dont like it as you must raise the tractor - unless you have a front deck - and I dont always like to do that.
