What is amazing about these vehicles and their loads is they survive. Sometimes they survive longer than if they were pampered here by so smart Americans. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Every now and then I'll encounter a project that is almost overwhelming. I have a real life image that's locked into the back of my mind. It inspires me and gives me confidence to try under those circumstances.
In 1967 while driving in a convoy we came upon a loading area for Vietnamese loggers. Humungus logs, hardwoods, tuff stuff, being loaded onto WWII vintage American all wheel drive military three quarter tons set up to haul like regular logging truck and trailers.
They had no tractors, cranes, or other modern pieces of equipment. But they did have some I beams and rail road jacks. It was totally impressive. Little men, big big logs, little old trucks, and it happened.
I have to believe that if they could do that with what they had then there has to be something available to me at the moment that will work if I'm only smart enough to recognise it. That and equipment can be used beyond it's conceivable capacity if it isn't abused.
