How often are you not in 4 Wheel Drive?

I find that I use turtle speed and the locking differential more than 4WD and I'm in an area the call the ENDLESS MOUNTAINS. That's not to say I don't use 4WD much I do probably about 20% of the things I do require 4WD. It's just for me I find the turtle and lock diff easier to go in and out of while doing whatever it is I do.
I don't know what it is about my BX23 but it seams that everything I do is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you have as much fun with yours!!!!!!!!

I use 4wd when ever I use the loader. Which is about 50-60% of the time.

I leave my BX-22 in 4WD 100% of the time. No reason not to. I don't have any paved surfaces. Gravel driveway allows tires
to slip. Grass doesn't seem to care. Dirt certainly does not care. If I had a paved driveway I would be concerned about tire wear.

Sunday I brought home a load of firewood with my pickup pulling a trailer full of wood. I was in 2WD, and spun some grass off. Argh! I should have put it in 4WD before pulling into the grass. That's why.

My property is flat. The majority of my seat time is mowing or brush hogging so the BX2200 is in high range and 2wd most of the time. Same thing if I'm transporting with the carry-all, spraying, etc. The less often times when using rear or box blade, tiller, scraping soil with FEL & toothbar, or .....stuck... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, then I'm in 4wd.

It never fails everytime I think "hey"why not try two wheel drive for this job I always end up spinning tires for one reason or another. I very seldom take it out of four wheel drive.

i use 4wd anytime i am doing FEL work, or plowing snow, or any king of work. i don't need it when i am mowing with the RFM or just putzing around . actually the tractor will let you know when you need it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The majority of the time our transmission is locked in the automatic mode and SensiTrak, a NH add on, puts the tractor in 4WD automatically whenever it's needed. Since you never really know when it's happening it doesn't complicate the need for placing the transmission in 4WD manually. The wheels don't slip and there is no extra wear and tear on the drive-line since SensiTrak also takes the tractor back out of 4WD whenever it senses that it is no longer needed.

I think it's a neat feature and well worth the few extra bucks that it costs.

I try 2WD as much as possible and slip into 4WD if needed, which is a lot. Loader work though is automatically in 4WD. I'd have to guess 50-50.

With my rough land and sandy loam my B21 stays in 4x4, anything I do regarding dirt work, discing, planting, and cedar logging with a Tajfun winch must be in FWD!

Then when I hit the county dirt road I forget to put it in 2WD! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
