How often do you check your zerks (aka grease nipples)

Ed, I know it is a lot of money, but trust me get a LockNLube coupler for your grease gun and live a longer life. No rotating the coupler, no pulling, no unscrewing the coupler to loosen it, just a joyful greasing experience. You will need an adaptor ( I made one) for those two zerks on the pedal shafts as the lock n lube is too long to get in there easily, either that or trade out those zerks for right angle zerks like they should have been in the first place. I resisted for a long time but the guys kept on saying how wonderful this thing is, and you know what? They were right.

I have to agree with James on this one. Seems like an expensive toy, but the reduction in hassle is worth it to me, never mind the grease actually going into the fitting.

Sometimes I wonder about you guys. I grease my stuff twice a day...once at lunch and once before I load it on the trailer at the end of the day. I accomplish this burdensome task with a hand pump grease gun and a standard coupler...Oh the horror!

I have had a zerk come loose from time to time. Usually the angled type.

Apparently, the only way to deal with neighborhood zerks is to lock and lube them.

grease the zerks every time I put the unit away for the night ( after every use ) .... sometimes an additional squirt if the unit is being used for long periods of time ...

Actually there are 3 styles of zerks (that I know of)
Pipe thread. (and in 1/8 and 1/4 NPT)
Parallel thread.
Press fit.
Also admit that failures are very rare.
