How often do you clean your tractor?

OK - How many people out there washed there tractor AFTER they greased the fittings & then you have little grease stains all over to clean?? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I am guilty how about you?

Barnboy,

The key is to wash it on a hot, dry day. The water caught in joints will dry out long before it has time to do damage.

Some people around here leave their tractors out in the weather 24/7. I don't think it's good for them, but I don't think it hurts the innards any more than it hurts a car.

Clean a tractor????
OK, every 2 months or so, with a pressure washer set on the lowest pressure, and then I grease or spray Boeing on all appropriate areas, check the tires, oil and such (at over 400 hours I've never had to add oil or top off hydraulic fluid between service intervals, never have had to add air to tires - so, I may just be wasting time, but ------).
Now, the radiator screen is cleaned after each mowing through heavy weeds or similar - got my tractor up to the 3/4 mark on the temp gauge once, when I hadn't cleaned the screen, and that'll never happen again.

Wash it 3-5 times per year. Wax it once per year. UV protectant tire foam to prevent checking. Always store it inside, never left out in the elements.

I sprayed mine off once or twice since I got it.... It'll be 5 in June 06. The rain has washed it off a few times but for the most part it stays parked in the garage.

Lets see cleaning huh, well I use it for an hour or so and stop what I am doing, wash and wax it. Then I don't want to get it dirty so I go rent a tractor to finish the job. Haven't used it since!

Oh course I'm kidding. I ran it for nearly two hours before I did the renting thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK, Ok, I'll be serious. I wash it when it is real dirty, when I have some extra time or after a big job. I like to keep my equipment clean not just because I am annal retentive but also it makes it easier to work on.
