How Often Do You Grease?

I don't think it matters either. I do it before because it is nice and cool in the morning, and after cutting 30 acres I'm done in the heat of the day -- I just want to get a nice cool shower. Greasing at that point is not on my mind. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Anyone know anything about "Green grease"? Saw it on the Speed Channel where they were talking about how good it was.

I follow the manual's 50 hour (IIRC) recommendation except for the FEL. That's all loose pin construction, so you can't over grease. Grease is the only thing that keeps those pins clean. The worst you can do is make a mess. In wet weather or when plowing snow, I grease after every use. For normal FEL work, maybe every two or three uses.

The pneumatic grease gun makes it a lot easier.

I've never seen "Green Grease". I use Schaeffers Moly Ultra 800 EP.

The only green grease I know of is JD corn head grease.

JD has somthing called polystera?? (sp??) that's sorta a green/black. Works good for me so far... The lady at the dealer recommended it over a Lithium I had in my hand...

Others that work good are Lucas red n tacky and mystick which is a blond color. I forget who makes it.

I found the link to Green Grease . I am in no way connected, just interested to know if anyone has used the stuff and any reason to think it really might be better. Thanks for any informatoin.

I bet the blue JD Heavy Duty waterproof grease would work just as well. I love JD grease seems to be some of the best out there.

I think my manuals call for every 10 hours. I do it once a day if I am working the equipment all day other wise once every 10 hrs.
